A Picture is worth a 1000 words

Any "expert" out there who can interpret the circled areas? Click to enlarge....

Comments:
There’s certainly some corrosion of the connector and the cable! But the rest of the print shows no damage, and that is odd. This connector is placed right next to what seems to be the battery connector and thus close to a natural opening in the phone shell. I have before seen "water damage" due to human perspiration on phones kept in a shirt or trouser pocket, could this be the culprit?

I'd say it's more likely that the sweat from the head of some chinese shop worker on the 'rework' line at the factory than from regular human day-to-day perspiration making it into the housing and then by some miracle making it into the mating of the flex-cable and the PCB (unless you talk on the phone right after the sauna-lol). Without having this phone, can you tell me the orientation of pictures? is this the top of the phone? bottom?

Nevermind, it's the side. Looking at the pictures on the FCC website of the internals of the phone, I'm pretty sure that's the flex-cable for the keyboard or the bottom buttons of the phone. How corrosion here could could influnce your charging issue is beyond my "expert" (ha!) realm of expertise.

Good luck!

wade, so easy for you to make fun of a chinese worker without even trying to think that you could be acting quite racial with these sort of comments...where are you from...i am sure there might be quite a few jokes on your nationality as well...

Well as the phone worked for a while before stopping at the end, this means that there was nothing wrong with it and Wade cant blame the chinese guys as he did. I am sure that Wade. Although the chinese guy probably has double the IQ of Wade's since he works in a High Tech Place.

This website is ridiculous just petty people who cant face it that they've done something wrong. imate was one of the best mobile phone companies around.
